Video: Some of my best flat water tricks.

This is freestyle...lol. Niked on the middle of n owhere.

Windsurfing is one of the most difficult sport I know. I you wanna try skiing, snowboarding, or surfing, it will be easy to improve quickly and have some good feeling at the beginning. But windsurfing is not the same. Why. Compair to others sports, you are going to have 2 things to manage. The water with the board, and the wind with the sail. When you surf, or ski, you only have to care about the water or the snow... You know what I mean!
After that, when you will be abble to "windsurf", I mean go away and come back on the same spot, you still have to know how to put your harnais and your feet in the foot straps.
Now you can start freestyle. But there is defferent levels of freestyle. At the beginning, you will make freestyle tricks with your sail (360°, clew first...etc) When you will be able to windsurf in the strong wind with a tiny board, you will start to make aerial tricks like on my video.

It's tough, but the feeling is the best one I know. But no worry, if you are a chicken you still can try kite surfing. Much easier than windsurfing...but less fun...lol.

Skateboarding with the willy skipper. Feet out of the straps in the air, you make a 180°and slide.

The spock: 180° in the air with your feet in the straps, push in the sail, and make one more "slide 180°"...ok?

Very small want, but big enough to make a backside air. Hard to come back in the initial position.

Windsurfing in extreme condition can be freestyle too: 9 of April, air is around 4°, water 6° and wind is extremly strong. But it's cool.

I started to compet in 2000 when freestyle has been borned. At this time, many competitions were organized in France. Now, the riders levels is so high; the tricks are really complicated. People on the beach don't really undestand the tricks, that's why freestyle is almost dead now. I mean, no more competition, but more and more are practising freestyle now every where.

I keep freestyling when I'am windsurfing, but I stop training for 1 month on the same tricks... falling 50000 times, etc.

If you see windsurfers, stop and watch them. I'm sure, on of them will make freestyle tricks.
Watch my video, it will be easier to undersand, and if it's not complicated for you, watch my friend video. Vincent is one of the best freestyle rider in the world. All the tricks on his video are different. Whatch his feet postion, sails position...etc.

Freestyle competitions work like that. 2 riders in the water for a 12 minutes "heat". There is a huge square and you are not aloud to go over, otherwise judges can't see you very well. You have to make all the tricks you know, and mustn't fall. At the end of the "heat" judges say who is the winner. The winner is gonna "figh" against an other winner, until the final.

The new tricks. The puneta: impulsion 280° but with the feet in the wrong way. It's like a switch spock.

It's always hard for you hands for the first session. After 5 months in gloves, it's on the "ruff" grip of the boom.

Vincent is one the best in the world. Just watch his video, you will undesrtand. Click here.
