The tracks with woops, tilted corners, camels, jumps...etc.

The skier cross is a mix between ski, jump and motocross. You can practice it with your friends in all the big ski resort or if you are a good skier, you can race. But don't forget, you will be in the track with 4 others skiers. That mean you really have to manage the jumps, camels or woops if you don't want to crash into someone.
I started skier cross 8 years ago, when this sport has been borne. At this time we had many competitions in France but now, there are only few competitions and they all depend of the World Cup. So, the level is very high, only for pro riders.
I didn't get enough sponsors to keep skiing at this time, that's why I stopped. I was pretty disappointed because I wasn't bad, but if you don't have perfect skis, team and coach, it's impossible.
I register one race in 2006, The instructor Challenge where most of the French skiers of the World Cup are coming. We were 350 for the qualification, and I finished 3 after nice and big fighting.

A nice 30 years old jacket for fun...

If you want to start "fighting", don't forget your helmet and your turtle (back protection) in case you fall or if someone crash into you.

The second thing is your brain, you need a good one. You must think very quickly if you want to win.

Because of gravity competition in the summer, my brain is now perfect for this kind of competition. You always have to attack.

It's very close inside but if I slow down, he will pass me, I will be "dead".

Big helmet with protection for your teets.

Back protection to save your back in case of a bad crash.

The start, always a big drop behind to get lot of speed quickly.

Competition works for 1 or 2 days. First the qualification: You ski down in the tracks one by one twice. You must be in the top 32. After that, they make 8 heats with 4 riders each time. The starter is giving the start:" riders ready? In the 5 seconds (he has 5 seconds to open the gate)...GO!!! The door (or gate) is open, you pull the handle you have in front of you and after you push on your sticks. The 2 first skiers are qualifying for the next round until the final.

I say fighting when you race, but they are rules. You cannot change your trajectory to cross this others skiers way, and you cannot make "crazy attack". Judge and usually riders check out the rules them self

4 riders in the start now. Lot of pression. You musn't miss your start.

Skeirs are 200% and sometimes some of them cannot control the pression.

I finished 3 because of a silly wipe out on the finish line. Otherwise: 2
